Build a new serviceRestaurants and ordering

Helping a restaurant brand support its own ordering and payment rules

Dine-in and takeaway needed different timing, combinations and payment steps. We traced the dining experience and connected those rules to orders, checkout and kitchen work, keeping responsibilities clear.

Client: a restaurant brand offering several dining formats. Teams: stores, checkout and kitchens. End users: dine-in and takeaway customers.

01

A configurable menu was not a complete workflow

The packaged tool displayed dishes but left table additions, collection slots, meal combinations and payment timing to staff workarounds.

02

Separate dining formats from shared menu data

We mapped selection, ordering, preparation and payment with the restaurant, sharing product information while defining cancellations and state changes for each dining format.

03

Build around order progression

The system connects menu options, table and takeaway orders, payment status and kitchen tasks. Amendments preserve evidence and distinguish customer, floor-staff and cashier permissions.

04

Support the way the brand serves guests

Customers can complete the appropriate ordering journey and staff know the next responsible role. Configuration, devices and exceptions are included in acceptance and handover.
